Tamara Wright
Tamara was born in Phoenix Arizona and raised in Southeastern Missouri.
She is the youngest of five children and has been drawing painting and building crafts with her Mother and three sisters
since she was a small child. Her landscapes reflect the rich and colorful influence of Blues, Jazz and
Bluegrass music played in the rolling countryside of the Ozarks and the historical city of Saint Louis. These
formative years in the country taught her to love the outdoors and appreciate the complex beauty of nature.

After college Tamara pursued a career in corporate sales for Pepsi Cola until
she was inevitably compelled to find a more creative outlet and accepted a sales position for a prominent gallery in Phoenix,
Arizona. Her experience with this Atelier was exciting and fast paced and it invigorated her desire to
paint again. When explaining the joy that she experiences when painting she refers to a quote by the Hindu
teacher Patanjali. “When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all
your thoughts break their bonds; your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you
find yourself in a new great and wonderful world.”

Tamara and her husband John Kime, an accomplished artist in his own right, happily
reside in the Pacific Northwest with their three dogs. Her life experience has enriched her art and she
thrives on experimenting with different mediums and styles, especially painting the Northwest landscape en plein air.
She has been inspired by many different artists including Van Gogh, Mary Cassatt, Edward Hopper, John Singer Sergeant,
Rauschenberg, George Inness and Matisse.
